Our first parade!

This was our first Mardi Gras parade, I was pretty excited about. I don't think Kysa really cared to much. Before the parade we had a pot luck with a lot of southern food. It was way good. We had red beans and rice, jambalaya, king cake, and a bunch of other things. We ate really good while we were there!

Jaden trying to get some stuff. Jaden did really good when it came to getting things thrown to him. He got a huge stuffed bunny and a ton of other stuffed animals.

Kysa fell asleep during the parade. SHe had to be super tired to fall asleep with all the noise. Some of the floats would go by with music so loud I had to cover our ears! It still amazes me that she could sleep through that.

We went down to the french quarters and ate at this really good sandwich place. It was soo good. The Parillouxs knew about this place, we were so glad that they took us there!

Wrong shoes and flying to Louisiana

I had Jaden finish getting Kysa ready, so all he had to do was put her socks and shoes on. I realized that Jaden is color blind but I didn't know it affected his right from his left. Kysa's shoes ended up on the wrong feet. I couldn't stop laughing when I saw this.

I wanted Jaden to take this pictures so that we could have a picture of the guy that sat next to us. His name is Elden, he talked our ears off, and he preached to us for about an hour and a half. He is a deacon from his church and kept talking to us about baptizing babies. He really wanted us to tell him that Kysa had been baptized. It was kind of funny. He was a really nice guy though.

Kysa's first flight!

On the 12th we flew to Vegas to stay over night at my parents. The next day we were leaving for Louisiana. This was the first time that Kysa flew on a plane and she did so good. The people in front of us turned around at the end of the flight and were so surprised to see that a baby had sat behind them. They didn't even know she was back there!

When we got settled in kysa just wanted to look out the windows. She would go to one window to the next. It was so cute!

She fell asleep a little after we got in the air. Made the flight nice and quiet!

Right before we landed she woke up, just in time to look out the window and play with the seat in front of her.

Our washer broke a little bit ago and our landlord went and got a new one for us. When he brought it he just left it in our living room in the box. well the next morning after it had been put in, the empty box was left in our living room. Well as we all know no need for toys when you have a box! Kysa got up the next morning and made it her new home. Here are a few pictures of her new toy. LOL!

I had been debating with myself if I wanted to cut Kysa some bangs. Well, I didn't have to. I just parted some hair out and TADA! Swoop bangs! She looks like such a big girl!

Kysa is turning into such a big girl! Today was the first time she drank out of a cup all by herself! She did such a good job. Of course if you could have seen her shirt at the end of this, it was totally drenched! I was still so proud of my little Kysa Lyn!


Kysa may not be able to walk quite yet but she sure knows how to climb. She is up on everything. We try and barricade her in the living room to keep her out of the kitchen and other rooms in the house that she can find bad things to get into. Even with our futile efforts she still tries to climb her way out. She is so brave when it comes to climbing but a HUGE chicken when it comes to walking. We're working on it.

I'm just looking over the back of my chair. Don't look at me like that, I'm not doing anything wrong, (Yet!).

Kysa"s new best friend!

Kysa has the cutest new best friend. She is so funny. She will stand in front of this mirror in my room and kiss it. It is so funny. Every day I watch her crawl into my room and stand up by that mirror and admire herself. It is so cute.

I turned on a movie the other day for Jaden and I to watch and Kysa plunked down in front of the tv and was so involved she hardly even notice we were there. Of course that only last for about 2 minutes but it was still cute while it lasted.

Fast offerings

We have lived in this apartment since we got married which is more than two years. As long as we have been here we haven't ever had the young men stop by to collect fast offerings. So this last fast sunday they came by to collect it. I was a little surprised but thought "It's about time." So I opened the door and invited the young man in. I took the envelope and went back to my room to give it to Jaden. I knew that Jaden was in the room getting dressed so that he could come out. Well when I got to the room I noticed that the young man was behind me. He followed me back to the room!!!! Jaden said to him "um... excuse me! You can wait by the door!" So he walked back to the kitchen. I had some Goldfish sitting on the table and he turns to me and says "I love Goldfish!" I totally just acted like I didn't hear him. So while Jaden is writing the check the kid starts looking at the stuff on our fridge. We had a card on it and he opened it and read it! Then He walks in the living room where Kysa was and starts walking around. I'm thinking to myself, "What the heck! This is so weird!" Jaden finishes and gives it to him and he leaves. When he left Jaden was so mad. He totally invaded our privacy! Who does that? I think he isn't coming in again! SO WEIRD!

Kysa growin up

Kysa is just growing up so fast. She is crawling and standing and I am sure any time soon she will be walking. Here are a few pictures we have taken in the last little bit. Nothin real big has happened so I only have pictures for right now.

Cutest face I've ever seen!

Kysa squeezed her way threw this little space. We tried to block it so she couldn't go into the kitchen because she loves the vent on the floor in the kitchen. Our efforts to keep her out didn't work.

Her apron is so cute. She was helping me make dinner and had to take a break to play because cooking isn't her favorite thing, unless the mixer is going.
