fire and first picture

A couple weeks ago there was a huge fire by our house. We live in Draper and it was on Corner mountain, which is just west of where we are. The fires were only about 2 miles from our house. It was quite a sight to see. The smoke could be seen all the way to Ogden. It ended up burning over 800 acres.

Nothing to exciting has been going on besides that. I am slowly but surely getting over my morning sickness which is great news for me. I am almost past my first trimester. I am excited about it. On the 29th of August I had my first ultrasound. I was a little nervous because I wasn't sure what to expect, and I was scared of what they might see. To my husband and my relief the baby is growing at a normal pace and has all it's organs. My medication has a lot of side affects and a couple of them are the organs, the brain, and spinal cord not developing at all. Some of the others are cleft lip and the baby not growing, the one medication will stunt the growth of the baby while it is in the womb but after birth the baby would grow at a normal rate, which is good to know. The baby right now is 42 cm and it's suppose to be 44, so the baby is a little behind but the doctor said nothing to worry about. So I am hoping that the baby will continue to grow like normal.
It sounds like I have to get a lot of ultrasounds throughout my pregnancy. I have to get at least two more that I am aware of. I am getting one at 15 weeks and then another
at like 21 weeks. I think that the one at 15 weeks is to check for cleft lip. Our doctor told us that if the baby has a cleft lip it has had it since the face started developing. So if the baby does I am hoping that they will be able to help stop it or something. The one at 21 weeks is to find out the sex and make sure the baby is still growing at the pace it should be. Hopefully all continues to go well the whole pregnancy.
The one thing that the doctor did tell me though was that me having a seizure would be the worse thing that could happen. So we have to monitor that closer than ever. I have to make sure that I get enough sleep because the last two times that I haven't had a good nights sleep I had arm shakes. This is really scary for me. I am afraid that I may not be able to go through this again. This may be our one and only. We will see. Everyone says that you forget so I am hoping that that is what happens so we can have more than one kid. This has been really hard for me.
Jaden just went back to school and got a better job. I was so excited when he got offered the job. Since before we got married Jaden has been working nights. I have hated it. I hate being home alone but especially when I go to bed. So now that Jaden has this new job he works during the day and is at home at night. I already love this new job.
Right now I am staying down at my parents house. Jaden and I went down and stayed the weekend (29th-1st) up at my grandparents house in New Harmony. Then I went down with my parents to Henderson to stay until the 13th of September. I have really enjoyed spending time with my family. I hate living so far away from them. It really sticks. I am just hoping that soon my family will be able to move closer.

Hey! Glad to hear everything is going well with you and your "peanut" (that's what we called Dominic after our ultrasound!) Pregnancy can be sooooo hard. You don't ever really forget it, you just are so in love with this little being that it makes all the struggles seem like it wasn't a big deal.
Fires are scary. Right after Jade was born our neighbor's house burned down. I woke up to lights flashing and a smokey house. The whole Henderson fire department was parked in our lawn. It was horrible. I just stood there dumbfounded watching our neighbor's house burn. Glad you guys are safe!

Hey girl! Glad it's going well so far. Yay for morning sickness going away! You know what's the pits though? You're leaving Henderson THE DAY BEFORE we leave to go to Henderson! We'll miss each other by just over 24 hours!! We were thinking of stopping in Utah to say hi on our way down though if you're up for visitors on Sunday. =)
