Holding my phone for me! LOL! (Sorry the picture is side ways)

Kysa has had a stuffy nose since about Saturday and Tuesday night it got so bad it was choking her and she was having a hard time breathing and she developed a cough. It was a little scary and I wanted to find out what was wrong. I wouldn't have been able to sleep if I didn't know she would be able to breath all night. So Jaden and I took her to the ER. I am a new paranoid mom. Maybe that was a little rash but I had to make sure she was ok.
They did a chest Xray on her and they made Jaden and I hold her down and that was super hard for me to do. She was screaming and turning red and she had tears. I don't do well when she has tears. Then they had to do a RSV test which is a swab up her nose. She didn't like that. They couldn't tell us a whole lot at the hospital so we had to go to the pediatrician the next day to really find out a whole lot.
The next day at the pediatrician we found out that she was positive for RSV. As soon as I heard that I started to cry. I have heard a lot of horrible things about it but nothing good. So of course I was freaking out! The doctor made me feel better because she looks really good for having RSV, the doctor was actually really surprised that she had it because she looked so good. We had to come back today and they thought she was still looking great. I wish they could give her something to make her better. I hate her being sick. I guess this just comes with the job of being a mom.

The joy in our home!

Tyler was always willing to hold Kysa, He just couldn't seem to get enough of her. He is just so good with kids. I had to make sure I got pictures of him and Thomas holding her so I could show Kysa when she is a little older so she will know them when they get home from their missions. And also for proof that they were there for her birth!
My mom and brothers just visiting with Jaden's sisters family from Logan.
Megan was the first to hold her and she was pretty excited about it.
Out of everyone, Lexi, was the most excited to see and hold Kysa. She couldn't wait to see her new girl cousin!
Emilee holding her!
Keisha, Megan and Karleah. Keisha came to visit at the hospital a lot to see her new little neice.
Zac!

Rick putting her back to sleep after she ate.
Right after we got home from the hospital. Just sitting for some mother daughter time.

Jaden and I sleeping while she sleeps, lol!
She looks so sweet when she is asleep.

Me and my little Kysa Lyn!

She is such a joy to have home with us! Jaden is convinced that she is growing so much. I have to keep telling him she is only a week and 3 days old, she hasn't grown that much. We are so greatful that God has entrusted this little spirit to us. She is such a joy in our lives.

She's finally here!

Filling out paper work and preparing to go have Kysa.
Kysa's first picture that she's clean in.
First Time holding my little girl. I was crying a bit.
Our first family picture!
The proud daddy feeding his little girl!
A few hours old.

As you can tell by the last post that Jaden did Kysa is finally here. She was born on Thursday, March 12th at 1:49 pm. She wasn't nearly as large as they has said she would be, thank goodness. She ended up being only 7lbs 8ozs, she is now 7lbs 3ozs. She is 21 inches long. She is tall and skinny like her mom and dad.
She is the best baby, she hardly ever cries and she smiles a lot. It kind of makes me sad because she has already changed so much in 4 days. She looks mostly like Jaden. The only feature she really got from me was her cute nose. Other than that she is all her dad. She is so lucky that she looks like him!
I am recovering slowly. I am really sore! Pain pills work ok, but I am not really a big fan of taking narcodics. I had to stay an extra day in the hospital because the pain pills totally messed me up. I was so dizzy and light headed I thought I was going to fall over. It really scared me because I didn't know if it was seizure related. It scared me.
I am happy to report that Jaden is doing great! He is the best dad ever. He has changed almost every diaper and always wants to feed her and burp her and anything else. She already has him wrapped around her finger. He will do anything for her. It is the cutest thing in the whole world.
Tonight will be the first night that we keep her all night without sending her to the nursery. She is hard to sleep with because she squeaks and makes all kinds of noises all night. I am a little worried how we will do. I am sure we will be fine. Patients is all I need.

We just lover her!!

Our new addition! Kysa Lyn Shaw, 7lbs 8oz and 21 in long. We're a little partial but she is the cutest thing ever.

Time for an update

So I thought that today since I have some time I should do a little bit of catching up. Thankfully my sisters have been so kind to keep y'all informed on some of the things happening in the past little bit. The boys (Tyler and Thomas) got their calls! Yippy! I am not going to lie I was super excited that they were staying in the country. Outside, kind of scary! They were a little disappointed in not going outside the US but I thought it was great!

The baby shower (not bridal shower, nice one Brit) went really well and I really felt loved when almost everyone that we invited came. I got a lot of things that I needed which was really nice. I thought for sure all I was going to get was clothes because well lets face it, little baby girl clothes are just so darn cute! I did get quite a few but I still got things I needed which made me so happy. If they don't get it for me then I just won't get it and that could be bad. For instance, no bottles: Well we didn't get any bottles Jaden what do you want me to feed her with? How about a straw? LOL! So you see that could have been a big problem. Thank goodness someone found it in the goodness of their hearts to give me some bottles. LOL!
Can I just tell you how much it sucks being like 33 weeks prego and driving in a car for 6 hours! I was so uncomfortable and in so much pain that I just wanted to get out and walk the rest of the way home, ok maybe not, but you get the idea of my pain.
So on Monday my doctors office called to tell me that I don't have gestational diabetes. Thank goodness! So now that we know that, that means that I am just a freak with a lot of fluid around my poor little Kysa. Well Wednesday I went and got my stress test and that was just weird. They put these bands around your belly with these 2 little blue triangle thingys and they monitor you and the baby. There are two graphs that are on the screen. One is to show the babies movement and the other one is to show if you are having contractions. So I am sitting there watching these lines go up and down and up and down. I didn't realize it but I was having contractions the whole time. Sure it was a little uncomfortable but I just thought that that was the baby moving around and putting pressure down there, WRONG! So now I know that I have been having contractions for like 3 weeks now and just thought that the baby was doing that. NICE!
So anyways, the doctor checked me out (OUCH) and everything is fine. The baby isn't trying to come right now. She did say that she didn't see her coming in the next two weeks but after that it could be any day. SWEET!
I have been having such bad rib pain that I just want to die. There isn't anything that I can do to fix that though except tylonal or a nice warm bath. So I am thinking she is just going to have to come sooner like around the 26th (Kerri's guess for when she will come. I hope she wins!). I'm not going to lie that pushing a kid out my whoo hoo really scares me (ouch once again). Anyways so that is the update. The baby is good and I am in pain, to make a long story short!

news on being to big

Today we went and got the ultrasound to see why I am too big. It didn't go quite as I had hoped. I do have to much fluid and her abdomen is larger than it is suppose to be. The doctor that came in to talk to us about this told me that he thinks that I might have gestational diabetes. I already tested for it and my doctor told me that I wasn't even close to having it. So I am a little confused. I have to take the test again but the test is a little more elaborate this time. The doctor said that because there is so much fluid the uterus thinks that I am farther along than I really am so I could go into labor early. The Doctor that talked with us just pretty much told me all the bad things and all the bad things that could happen but didn't tell me anything good and didn't tell me anything that would answer any of the questions that I might have to make me feel at least a little better about the whole thing.

On a lighter note we did get some really good pictures of her. They did a 3D ultrasound for us and it turned out so good. It was really fun to get an idea as to what she might look like. I think that she has my nose and the rest is really a toss up. What do you think?
The top picture you can really see her face, the second picture shows her with a little grin. I am a little partial but I think she is super cute!

The room and Too BIG??

Jaden and I finally got some of Kysa's room done. I was so excited about it. We painted her room a very light green color. We put her crib together to find out that we were missing a piece. I was a little saddened by that. We ordered the piece so hopefully it will be here soon. We got these box things that we are using for her dresser. It was much cheaper than buying a dresser and we really can't afford that. But this works just fine for us. I haven't had a chance to hang anything on the walls but it is coming along slowly.

Covering all the holes in the wall with that white puddy stuff.

My master painter. He did so good. He only got a little on the floor and futon. lol!

The crib with no mattress but has the bedding in it. Hee hee!

The Curtins, and the makeshift dresser.

Here is my 7 month picture. I'm getting bigger by the day. I went to the doctor yesterday and she told me that I am measuring about 3 cm over what I should be. So I have to go get another ultrasound next Tuesday to make sure that everything is ok. No wonder everyone keeps asking me if I am due like tomorrow. I guess I grew like 4 cm in 2 weeks and that isn't normal and I am to big for as far along as I am. This really stressed me out, so bad that I didn't really sleep last night. I am just worried for Kysa. I just want everything to be fine. I had Jaden get up at like 6 to give me a blessing, he was getting up anyways to go to work. In the blessing it said that everything would be fine. That made me feel so much better. As soon as I got back in bed I went right to sleep. I should have had him give it to me at 3 when I was wide awake and wishing for sleep. I am putting it in the Lord's hands now. I know that everything will be fine. He told me so himself!

The Jazz and snowcats!

So if you recall on the 12th day of Christmas our not so secret friends gave us 2 tickets to the Jazz game. So last Wednesday we went to the game. They were playing the New Orleans Hornets, so the game had a special meaning for us. We had really good seats and it was my first basketball game so it was a blast. Jaden's brother Jesse was there so during half time we met up with him. It was a lot of fun.

The game from our seats!

Jaden and I at the game.

Two days ago I got to do two firsts. I got to ride in a semi, and got to ride in a snowcat. Just in case you aren't really sure what a snowcat is, If you ever saw the movie National Treasure, at the beginning when they are going to the boat that is in the snow, the things that they are riding in are snowcats. Here is a picture to give you a better idea.
This is actually two. The smaller one is in front and the bigger one that we took is in back.

Jaden in the cab of the semi we got to ride in!

Lindsay, Swayzee, and me in the back of the snowcat.

In case you can't tell by the look on my face I am not looking so happy. Lets just say that it was a little too rough of a ride for someone as pregnant as I am. I was very uncomfortable! All in all though we all had fun and it was something new for both Jaden and I.

A day to make you reflect

This last Tuesday Jaden and I were sitting at home watching the Hulk when Jaden got a phone call from his mom. Jaden paused the movie and seemed really upset but wasn't saying anything that would give me any ideas about what was going on. When he got off the phone I asked him what that was all about. He then told me that his cousin MeLea's little girl died. I was shocked! Melea has already had a hard life and she is such an amazing person. She is deaf and so is her husband, they have 4 kids, all hearing. 3 little boys and one little girl.

Shelbi (MeLea's little girl) was 6 years old. She had gotten sick and started throwing up on Monday and Tuesday morning Rian (her dad) was getting ready for work really early in the morning and went in to check on her and she was sitting up in her bed shuffling some papers around. He asked her how she was feeling and she told him a little better. He went to work and when he got home MeLea told him that she was just getting worse. So they took her to the hospital and a little while after she got there she went into a coma. Her heart rate accelerated really fast and then her heart stopped. They tried to do CPR on her but she wouldn't be revived. She died that night and no one really knew what happened to her or why she died.
They found out yesterday that she had a hernia in her stomach that was releasing poisons into her body and these poisons killed her colon. All these things caused her to have a lot of potassium in her body which caused her heart to race and stop.
Yesterday they went into her room to get a blanket that was her favorite to put in her casket and while they were in there they found a bunch of letters and pictures she had written and drawn for different people in her family. She wrote her testimony to her parents and drew a picture of her dad baptizing her and on the back a picture of Jesus. Then she drew pictures and wrote little notes to her grandparents, her brother, her 3 best friends, and her little cousin that she was really close to. Her testimony was so amazing especially for a little 6 year old that was only in first grade. To sum it up she said how much she loved her family, how she loved her heavenly father and Jesus so much, she was greatful for her Savior and close with Amen.
She was an amazing little girl and I think that some one was there to prompt her to do that and help her say her good byes with out really knowing for herself, I am sure, that she was going to die.
Her funeral was beautiful, and she was a beautiful little girl!  I write this in her memory!

Christmas!

Before I start anything I am sure you want to know the last two days of the 12 days of christmas!

On the 11th day of Christmas our secret friends gave to me some piping hot things to eat and drink.
I don't have a picture of the 12th day and I am so mad at myself for not getting one but this is what it said, On the 12th day of Christmas your not so secret friends gave to me... 10 players and two coaches...
Jaden's sister and brother in law were standing at our door with an envelope with a red ribbon on it. They gave us the envelope and inside was two tickets to th
e Jazz game 2nd row! They are playing New Orleans so they thought we would really like that game! As soon as I opened the door to them I got all emotional. I really don't think they will ever know how much it meant to us! They are so darn giving!
This year for Christmas we went down to Henderson to spend tim
e with my family for the holiday. I flew down on the 22nd and Jaden came down on the 24th because he had to work Christmas eve. Keisha drove our car down for us and then just dropped the car off to Jaden when he got off his plane. Christmas eve was a lot of fun! we tried out some new traditions and of course kept some of our old ones. My mom wanted us to all bring a tradition from our in laws so I brought from Jaden's family the acting out of the Nativity. Everyone drew parts and then acted it out. It was  a lot of fun!
Christmas morning we got up at like 8 and then made
and ate breakfast and then opened presents one at a time. It was a lot of fun. I was super glad that we ate before we started though. Austin, Mindy's little one, got sick that morning and was throwing up and stuff. That stunk really bad. We let Austin open his presents and then Jacob took him home. Christmas night we played games and just had  a lot of fun!
Here's some pictures of our fun!
